The Department of Climate Change, Government of Gujarat in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Sustainability, Gujarat University and GEDA (Gujarat Energy Development Agency) & Centre of Excellence for Climate Change in GU, hosted a seminar on 'World Ozone Day', The Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth on 16th September 2022.
For this event, IIS hosted Shri Jagdishbhai Ishwarbhai Vishwakarma (Panchal) (Hon’ble Minister of Cottage Industries, Co-operation, Salt Industries, Protocol (Independent Charge), Industries, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Printing and Stationary (State Minister), Road and Building(State Minister), Shri S J Haider (IAS) (Principal Secretary, Education Department & Climate Change Department, Government of Gujarat), Shri B H Talati (IAS) (Joint Secretary, Climate Change Department, Government of Gujarat), Smt. Shivani Goyal (IAS) (Director GEDA). Key-note speaker for this Ozone Day event is Dr. Manish K. Naja (Scientist F, and Chairman, Atmospheric Science Division of Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, Nainital-An Autonomous Institute of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India).
The sole motive of the event was to create awareness among the Youth of the nation who will further decide the fate of the country. On this occasion of 'World Ozone Day’, A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with, imagine a company, which was founded in the Netherlands as a start-up, believing in a sustainable future. This MoU focuses to work in the domain of “Green Hydrogen” & towards sustainability in various dimensions by operating on the pillars of practice, research and training.
